8 - Pedagogy of the Oppressed, Session #1

On this episode of the anthrotographer I start a long form breakdown of the classic 1968 book Pedagogy of the Oppressed by Paulo Freire. I manage to get through the preface and halfway into chapter 1. This will be a multiple episode series. Freire's book dives deep into the power dynamics of the modern world, where we have an 'oppressor' class and an 'oppressed' class. He analyzes the psychology that breeds this relationship and the educational system that is bedrock of it, while presenting a more humanizing education model.

‘the anthrotographer’ is a pod interested in studying the human condition and creating new media inspired by what's learned. We enjoy discussing weighty themes in films, books, history, current events or whatever the hell else interests us. With some educational background in both Anthropology & Video Production (plus amateur independent researching) hopefully what is created both provokes thought and is informed.
